Welcome!
Hi, I’m Kurt Wootton. My wife and I moved to Mérida, México almost twenty years ago and opened a lab school and education center called, Habla. Before that I was bringing professional artists together with teachers to create innovate approaches to teaching reading and writing at The ArtsLiteracy Project in the Education Department at Brown University. I’ve also taught in the United States and Mexico in private and public schools. Now we do quite a bit of work with teachers in schools and districts mainly in North and South America. We’re always working with teams of folks who come up with some really innovative ideas so this seemed like the perfect place to share some of this cool stuff with you.
Here you’ll get the latest activities and ideas we’re developing. Perhaps you’ve attended one of our Institutes or workshops in the past and you’d like to hear about recent work we’re doing. I’m also adding new activities that extend the ideas in our books ENGAGE and A REASON TO READ.
Thanks for visiting and stay in touch. I’d love to hear what you’re up to!
